GIVE: Joy By The Spirit — Embrace The Present Day

As time passes, many of us look towards the future or dwell on the past. Is there something we could have done different or is there something that we should be preparing for?

As important as it is to learn from our mistakes and prepare for the future, there is no time like the present.  Are we spending too much time trying to see into the future or turning our heads back to reminisce about the past?

It is common to hear how people talk about the “good old days” or hope for better times to come. But how many of us take the time to right the wrongs of the past or make a path towards a better future? Most of us just gossip about how things should have been or how they will be but we take no initiatives to ensure our success.

The joy of truly living each chapter in our lives focuses us to be in the present. Finding the joy, even in the toughest times in our life, allows us to learn and grow from every situation that is thrown our way.

Do not dwell in the past, do not dream of the future, concentrate the mind on the present moment. Buddha

Embrace the present day. Be thankful for the people around you and the gifts that have surrounded you. If major problems have occurred, use the present to correct the wrongs of the past. When looking forward to a better future, make a clear plan now to get yourself where you would one day like to be. There is no joy quite like the present.
