Soaring on the Promises of GOD

Foresight can be a blessing. The ability to analyze a situation and
logically predict how it’s going to play out seems sound and the way to go. But how often has what we call foresight and analysis actually been worry and efforts to completely control an outcome?

It can happen to us all. As humans, we get anxious about life – a job, relationships, money, well-being of a loved one. But being those who walk by faith and not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7), we cannot rely solely on human perception, nor can we rely just on ourselves.

I recently heard lack of faith described as “not having confidence in GOD.” That was eye-opening, because I know THE ONE who made the moon and the stars, the birds and the trees, the heavens and the earth and me is capable of ALL things. And GOD has not forgotten us. HE has plans for our lives:

For I know the thoughts and plans that I have for you, says the Lord, thoughts and plans for welfare and peace and not for evil, to give you hope in your final outcome (Jeremiah 29:11).

There may be some frustration in this life, because “the course of man is not in his control” (Jeremiah 10:23). But there is also peace when we resign ourselves to that knowing: no matter how much we mess up, GOD is ultimately in control. But we have to “seek [GOD] with our whole heart. When you seek me…I will let you find me (-it is Yahweh who speaks). I will release you from captivity and restore your fortunes” (Jeremiah 29: 13, 14).

In Luke 12, Christ tells us “not to worry about your life…for it has pleased your Father to give you the kingdom” (verses 22, 32). So when you’ve put logic to it, when you’ve prayed, “when you’ve done all you can, you just stand.” Stand on the promises of Christ. Soar in that peace. And you can rest assured GOD will keep good HIS promise (Jeremiah 29:10, 33:14).
