Much of our spiritual musings this month at have been focused on RESTORING order in your life and your relationship with others and, of course, with God. As the end of January draws near (can you believe it!!??), I want to leave you with some positive, affirming words to encourage you to RESTORE your inner SHINE.

RESTORING your inner SHINE is critical to your ability to enjoy right relationships with God and with others. And the consequences of not doing so — of buying into and internalizing your own negative self-talk and mis-perceptions — are so very dire. It can leave you drained, disconnected, and vulnerable emotionally, physically and spiritually. It’s hard for Spirit to use you to SHINE God’s light when your own light is less than luminescent.

Marianne Williamson explains it this way in A Return to Love:

“Emotional energy has got to go somewhere, and self-loathing is a powerful emotion. Turned inward, it becomes our personal hells: addiction, obsession, compulsion, depression, violent relationships, illness.”

I’d add to that (as if we need anything else!) the low-grade anxiety that may exist just under the surface and causes you to dim your God-given spiritual glow.

Remember, “… if your whole body is full of light, and no part of it dark, it will be just as full of light as when a lamp SHINES its light on you.” Luke 11:35-37

Take five minutes today to affirm the words below. There is power in words, especially when you allow the Creator to speak through you. So plug into your divinity and let your light SHINE!

  • When I was born, I was created perfectly!
  • Everything I need has already been provided.
  • I am lovable, loved and loving.
  • I trust that God’s love exists within me even when I lie to myself by believing otherwise.
  • I am willing to see my circumstances differently; to see them as a God of love sees them and sees me.
  • God is in me; I am in God.
  • As I release my hold on the past, fears and mis-perceptions, God illuminates my true inner beauty in this moment.
  • In this moment I change the future.
  • I deserve, claim and expect love and peace and wholeness.
  • Only love is real; nothing else matters.
  • God is love; I was made in the image and likeness of the One who created me.
  • I am powerful because of the power of God.
  • I am love.
  • I have found my own SHINE!
