The mailman deliversLike a professional mail person, we are often led to Deliver Messages. When we are led to “Speak by the Spirit”, it causes us to pause and think about what we are saying and think about the impact of our words on others as well as the consequences of making such a statement.

Understanding the power associated with Speaking by the Spirit can cause one to experience many emotions and actions such as fear, hesitation, and even silence. However, once in alignment with the Spirit, one can also experience excitement, eagerness, and a desire to spread and share the messages to be given.

As a clinician, I have spent many years encouraging both children and adults to think before they speak. I have encouraged them to “slow down” the communication process, which gives the speaker time to express their self fully and the listener time to understand the message(s) that has been given. The same process holds true when we Speak by the Spirit, we must first stop what we are doing and actively listen to what we are being told. This means that we tune out other noises (distractions), stop other activities, and give our full attention to what we are being told.

We then clarify the message so that we are sure that we have a full understanding. As spirits having a human experience…we are messengers…we are those who Speak by the Spirit. As we become experienced and active messengers, we learn to clarify what we are to say, how we are to say it, and when we are to say it. The slowing down and clarifying helps to ensure that the message is delivered properly and appropriately. It also provides you, the messenger, the opportunity to be filled with confidence and assurance so that you can deliver the message wholeheartedly.

As you continue to grow in your ability and confidence to Deliver Messages, I encourage you to slow down, actively listen and continue to Speak by the Spirit.

God Bless and continue to Live By the Spirit.
